Inspired by the panel of wolves howling at a winter moon, I used a pattern of blocks called the 'milky way'. My mom sent me the panel and I saw the block pattern in a book that she sent me.

Over many months, with the wolf panel in my background thoughts, I bought fabrics here and there that seemed compatible with the tentative plan that I had in mind. When the collection reached a critical mass and the time came to put it together, I knew that it already belonged to my mom.

Quilted on the longarm, the computerized designs were created by me specifically for this quilt. The center motifs were quilted using hand-guided clicking. Statler users, you know what I mean.
